Joans Corn Bread

1 C flour
1 C cornmeal
1/4 C sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 egg
1 C milk
1/4 C melted crisco

Mix 1st 5 ingredients then as the egg and milk. Whilw mixing, heat oven with the shortening in the skillit put it in oven till hot. Pour batter in hot skillet ( this gives it a crispy edge) and bake at 425 for 20 min
